Diary of a Wealth Manager, post # 17 - I’m at capacity this week! These posts are meant to be authentic sharings of what I’m hearing from clients, financial planning insights, what’s personally on my mind and what I’m living myself. The truth is, I’m at full capacity, and I’m giving myself permission to say it. A big deadline, two staff down, five proposals, admin piling up, and throw in three children - it’s a lot. And in my conversations with clients and friends this week, I’m hearing the same thing. Many feel stretched, overwhelmed, and close to capacity too. So, it feels important to say this out loud! It’s okay to say: ‘I’m struggling to keep up right now. I’ll come back when I have space’. It’s okay to say: ‘Thank you for the invite, but I need some rest time’. It’s okay to say, ‘That sounds like fun, but it’s too much for me this week. Please do include me next time'. Being honest about your limits, said politely, isn’t rude. And if someone doesn’t understand, perhaps they don’t belong in your circle. A dear friend (and amazing coach) always reminded me ‘You can’t pour from an empty cup’. Remember to stop, breathe and look after yourself. So, next week, Diary of a Wealth Manager will return with more inspiration. But for now, my message is simple: if you’re at capacity, say it, speak it, own it, and take care. Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few moments… including you. Have a restful weekend! #DOAWM #Mentalwellbeing

2dThank you for sharing the authentic you. I think it's really important that we don't always pretend we're thriving, running at 100 miles an hour in all areas of life. I hope you manage to find some time to do the things that help you switch off and rest. (I will wait a bit until I try to schedule in a catch up coffee...sounds like you've got enough on your plate at the moment!)
