- My wife was a sewer. She belonged to a sewing group. And there's one day, they told me to sit down in front of this Serger sewing machine, and they gave me a pile of cloth to put a hem around it. And I did it, and that's what started me on the Serger. And after I lost my wife, well, I kept on going. We moved out here to HiWay Baptist Church, and they have a sewing group out there, and I asked if I could join them. We made quilts. They taught me how to make stuffed animals. Some of the ladies, they'd make quite a few pillowcases and take them to the homeless boys up in Phoenix to put their own personal stuff in. And somebody suggested putting something in the pillowcase, and I said, "I'll put stuffed animals in for all the pillowcases that you make." I put in probably well over a hundred stuffed animals into all the pillowcases that we made. It's something I like to do and I wanted to do, and it's fun. (bright guitar music)
