This summer, CableLabs hosted our latest PON Interop·Labs event in Louisville, CO, bringing together OLT and ONU suppliers to test interoperability against the I02 version of the Cable OpenOMCI specification. Highlights: ✔️ Largest number of OLT suppliers to date ✔️ Expanded test cases, including ONU time sync + optical power levels ✔️ Continuous improvement cycle — suppliers resolving past issues while uncovering new opportunities for alignment These events are building a stronger, more diverse XGS-PON ecosystem by ensuring devices from different suppliers work seamlessly together. The Calix team recently participated at CableLabs Interop·Lab event as a committed member of the CPMP working group. For the third time this year, Calix joined other OLT and ONT vendors to collaborate on this important development and testing initiative. Calix also participated in a similar event organized by the Broadband Forum as a multi-year Plugfest series to be held in laboratories around the world. 🌐 During Way Out West 2025, we conducted a test of private 5G in one of Sweden's most demanding event environments. The test is part of Testbed as a Service – a mobile and controlled platform for testing technology, practicing collaboration, and developing practical preparedness in realistic contexts. What made this trial truly unique was its setting: the main stage of a live concert, one of the densest, most high-pressure environments for connectivity, even more so than stadiums or traditional venues. This test involved a wide array of devices and technologies operating simultaneously, including mobile phone terminals, 5G routers, cameras and their associated apps and data traffic – all successfully managed over the private 5G network. A critical success factor was the pivotal role of NEC as the system integrator of the end-to-end solution, ensuring seamless integration between radio network and the 5G Core. NEC also served as the Managed Service Provider, securing stability, performance, and operational continuity of the solution throughout the event. 🤝 Together with Cisco and TPO for RIaaS, we are demonstrating how new solutions can be tested in challenging but safe conditions – to strengthen both the reliability of the technology and society's preparedness. #Private5G #Wayoutwest2025 #5G #NEC #LIVEtechEvent #Cisco #TPO
