💡 Transforming Women’s Health through FemTech Leadership One of the plenaries at #HIC2025 was on FemTech — and it has really stuck in my mind as it reminded me why this conversation matters so deeply. We often hear about the under-representation of women in clinical trials, which continues to limit how evidence translates into practice. But what really resonated for me in this session was a different barrier: the challenge of investment. A recent conversation with Johanna Wicks from Lorai Health how difficult it remains for women founders in FemTech to secure funding, in part because most investors are men. Lorai Health in particular are focused on improving menopause. That simple fact shapes which ideas get backed, which innovations make it to market, and ultimately, which women’s health issues are prioritised. When I spoke with colleagues afterwards, many admitted this wasn’t something they’d considered before. It’s a stark reminder: bias in who invests can be just as limiting as bias in research. If we want to truly transform women’s health, we need to: 🔹 Demand equity in research design and representation 🔹 Champion female founders and diverse leadership in digital health 🔹 Challenge the structures that hold back innovation in women’s health Because Engage. Disrupt. Transform. doesn’t just apply to technology — it must apply to the systems around it too. 👉 I’d love to hear from others: what are you seeing that gives you hope for the future of FemTech? #FemTech #DigitalHealth #WomenInHealth #HealthInnovation #HIC2025

Women’s health has been underserved for far too long—and femtech is finally forcing the conversation forward. But here’s the truth: innovation without inclusivity and body autonomy isn’t progress. It’s just more of the same. I sat down with Jessica Johnson for a candid conversation about what it really takes to reimagine women’s health. We unpack the gaps, the breakthroughs, and the responsibility innovators carry to design solutions that don’t just work in theory - but in women’s actual lives. If you’re building in femtech, ask yourself: Are we solving the right problems, or just the profitable ones? Who’s excluded from the data, the testing, the design? How do we move from reactive care to proactive empowerment? These are important questions because they’re the blueprint for the future of women’s health. 🎥 Full interview here: https://bit.ly/47EztSn #FemTech #WomensHealth #Innovation #BodyAutonomy #Leadership
