Google Cloud wins £400m UK MoD contract for secure cloud services

The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded Google Cloud a £400 million contract. Google will provide a UK sovereign cloud capability, using Google Distributed Cloud Air-Gapped, to ensure secure cloud services for the MoD. This initiative aligns with the MoD's Strategic Defence Review, focusing on advanced capabilities and secure information processing. Tara Brady from Google Cloud said the partnership will help the MoD accelerate digital modernization while maintaining security and data sovereignty.
