I’m incredibly proud to be working with Gemma and the rest of the executive team to help improve the lives of people living with cancer.
2024 was a landmark year for Macmillan Cancer Support and I'm incredibly proud to share our annual report along with some reflections on what we've achieved and where we're heading next. Last year, we reached an incredible 2.4 million people affected by cancer across the UK and directly supported nearly half a million people living with cancer through our services. Those numbers are extraordinary, and behind them is the phenomenal effort of my colleagues, who pulled together during a time of significant change and never lost sight of what matters most - people living with cancer. We're now clearer than ever on our mission to ensure everybody with cancer gets the support they need, when they need it, and we've got bold ambitions to help drive a revolution in cancer care. This means ensuring the voices of people with cancer are at the heart of decision-making, whether that's the National Cancer Plan or the delivery of the 10 Year Health Plan. I know real change starts by listening to and working with the people it affects the most. There's still work to do, but we're moving fast to make it happen.
