Scala Highlights, June 2025 Edition: 👅 Language and Compilers: - Scala 3 will stop supporting older version of the JDK. Java 17 will be required for Scala 3.8 and onwards.  - Scala 3.3, 2.12, and 2.13 will continue to support JDK 8. - Scala 3.9 is expected to be released in Q2 2026. It will become the new Long-Term Support (LTS) version. 🧑💻 Developer Experience - Model Context Protocol (MCP) has been implemented in Metals, enhancing information queries in the Scala Language Server. It allows improved tool utilization and better result precision. - Scalafmt binaries are published using Scala Native, resulting in smaller sizes.
