Taramainuku is the new name of our on-site lake at Waitematā, gifted by local iwi at a special blessing and naming event last week. Taramainuku is named after the guardian, protector, and taniwha associated with the Manukau Harbour, Ōtara, and the southern rivers of South Auckland. The naming of this lake deepens our connection to the land, its history, the community and the mana whenua. This day will forever be special in DB’s history.

My 3 kids 2025 marked a very special occasion in DB Breweries history. We gave our lake a name. DB Breweries has been kaitiaki of a beautiful lake at our Waitemata brewery since 1947. In 2017, our lake started a beautiful transformation with extensive native tree planting and a pathway so our people could walk around it and enjoy a beautiful natural environment. Guided by the Kahui Ariki and King Gitanga representative for Tamaki Makoto and the Komata Otaki Ottawa Tannery, the lake was blessed and its name unveiled. Tarami. OK neemt achter the. Guardian Pratika and Tanifa, associated with the Manocchio Harbours, Otara and the southern rivers of South Auckland, Kaitiaki Atanga is about the connection between people and the environment. The ceremony brought that connection to life and is a key part of our cultural diversity strategy, which we are beginning with our Tao Maori lives.
