From today, the EU’s landmark Data Act starts to apply across all EU countries. Now we have to get serious. Strong public-private situation rooms in Member States that aims at getting organisation wallets (EUBWs also in the public sector) in use are needed. Otherwise citizens and enterprises cannot get all the verifiable data they need in life and business events. To be able to use x-border functioning general purpose secure wallets for all data is a unique step forward. EU and the MSs must do the orchestrating - and take responsibility for the full picture. But only if the credentials also from private sector issuers start flowing will the basic right for citizens and enterprises to get their data from all sources in the same way become real.
