Back in the day, we would start with an empty screen or a pad of paper and write code from scratch. Today, we can step up to an AI IDE, enter some prompts, and be rewarded with running code in minutes. With additional iteration, we can turn that prototype-level code into a production system. However, it turns out that prompting and iterating doesn't fully capture requirements, assumptions, and design decisions. We are launching Kiro, an AI IDE that will still let you have fun and vibe code, while helping you to navigate the path from prototype to production with clarity. Kiro lets you use specs to help you refine your thinking as you identify and capture requirements. Kiro also support hooks -- event driven automations -- that run in the background and take care of details for, and other must-have features including Model Context Protocol (MCP). You can download Kiro (Windows, Mac, and Linux) today at https://kiro.dev/ and use it for free during the preview period. One word of advice: You can read about AI coding all day and watch demos, but nothing matches the experience of actually doing it. For a deeper look at Kiro be sure to read the new blog post, "Introducing Kiro" at https://lnkd.in/exPuCn3Q by Nikhil Swaminathan and Deepak Singh .
