🌍 CBC and ICT Integration: Shaping the Future of Learning 💻📚 The Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) emphasizes what learners can do with the knowledge they acquired, focusing on skills, creativity, problem-solving, and lifelong learning. For this vision to be realized. ICT integration is not just an option, it’s essential. When technology is meaningfully embedded in teaching and learning, it transforms classrooms into interactive, student-centered environments. Teachers become facilitators, learners become active participants, and assessment becomes continuous and authentic. However, challenges are limited digital infrastructure, inadequate teacher capacity, and unequal access to devices and internet connectivity. Addressing these gaps requires strong collaboration between policymakers, educators, and technology partners. For the first time, Texas school systems can: ==> Launch hybrid campuses where students split time between in-person and online learning ==> Build virtual campuses serving 100% online learners ==> Offer individual virtual courses without going through the old TXVSN compliance process But the real question isn’t can you — it’s how will you? 📌 Will you launch Work-Based Learning Academies where students take academics online and spend 15–20 hours/week on the job? Employer partnerships now make more sense because students can be present consistently. 📌 Will you use hybrid/virtual to extend advanced coursework in rural areas? 📌 Will you "policy stack" SB 569 with tools like 1882 partnerships or R-PEP innovation zones to unlock even more resources and flexibilities for your community? 📌 Will you open virtual campuses designed for personalized pacing and choice? Done well, these models expand access. Done poorly, they risk being compliance-heavy without delivering real value for families.
