Hello Enhanced Games Losers, sorry to meat you. Pro Wrestlers Have Much Higher Death Rates Than Other Athletes Research shows professional wrestlers die at significantly higher rates than athletes in major sports like the NFL, NBA, and MLB: - A study found 20% of former WWE wrestlers aged 50-55 had died, compared to just 4% of NFL players in the same age group. - Wrestlers have nearly three times higher mortality rates than the average U.S. male. - Heart disease accounts for 40% of early deaths, often linked to past steroid use. Several factors contribute to this trend: extreme schedules (200+ matches per year), painkiller dependence, lack of employer healthcare (since wrestlers are classified as independent contractors), and the high-risk culture of earlier wrestling eras. While WWE’s wellness program has improved conditions for current wrestlers, the sport’s history highlights the need for better long-term health protections in high-impact entertainment. What changes could make wrestling safer for performers? (Sources: FiveThirtyEight, Eastern Michigan University studies) #SportsHealth #AthleteWellness #ProfessionalWrestling
