🔍 Unmistakable signs that it's time to change your processor's thermal paste 🖥️💥 Is your PC acting up? It could be the thermal paste. Here are the key signs indicating an urgent need for replacement. 📈 Abnormally high temperatures: If you notice your processor exceeding 80-85°C under normal usage conditions, it's a red alert. The thermal paste may have lost its properties. 🌀 Excessive fan noise: When heat dissipation isn't efficient, coolers work under strain and become louder than usual. Listen to your computer! ⚠️ Unexpected shutdowns and blue screens: Overheating causes system failures to protect components. If your PC shuts down on its own, check the temperature. 🔄 Poor performance: Thermal throttling reduces processor clock speed to prevent damage. If your system is running slower than normal, it could be due to excessive heat. ⏳ Time in use: It's recommended to change thermal paste every 2-4 years, depending on the compound's quality and usage conditions. 💡 Pro tip: Use quality thermal paste and apply the right amount. Not too little, not too much. For more information visit: https://enigmasecurity.cl Have you experienced any of these symptoms? Tip: Use a surge protector. Protect your computers and devices from power spikes by plugging them into a surge protector instead of directly into the wall. ✅ Bonus: For critical equipment, consider an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to stay protected during outages. #DeviceProtection #WeeklyTechTip #TheComputerCenter

What is a Surge Protection Device (SPD)? Types and Working Principle Electricity helps run various devices such as computers, lights, refrigerators and air conditioners. However, with every advantage, there are some drawbacks too, and in this case, power surges are a menace. They are spikes in voltage and can destroy electronic equipment within moments. This is where a surge protection device (SPD) can come in handy. Read More - https://lnkd.in/dKVHypC5

The Power Supply Unit (PSU): The Heartbeat of IT Equipment Every computer, server, or printer you use has a power supply unit (PSU) quietly converting electricity into the exact form your machine needs. Without it, nothing turns on. When preventive maintenance is ignored: Dust and heat shorten PSU lifespan Power surges fry sensitive components Sudden failures can cause data loss, downtime, or even total equipment death With preventive maintenance: Cleaning reduces overheating risks Surge protection extends equipment life Routine checks spot weak components before they fail At Willi-An IT Solutions, we’ve seen institutions spend heavily on new computers, only to discover the real issue was a neglected PSU. Caring for your power supply isn’t just maintenance it’s insurance against costly surprises. Never overlook the heartbeat of your equipment. A healthy PSU means a longer, smoother life for your entire system. #PreventiveMaintenance #ITSolutions #DataProtection #Reliability

𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥. 🔥 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 get dirty over time. The dirt makes them more sensitive — and suddenly, you’ve got false alarms disrupting your building. But here’s the game-changer: ✨ Modern analog smoke detectors come with drift compensation — a feature that automatically adjusts sensitivity as the device gets dirty. This means fewer false alarms and a more reliable system. 👉 Choose analog smoke detectors with drift compensation for high-traffic buildings. 👉 Regularly review if your system’s technology is outdated — many older detectors don’t have this feature. 👉 Pair technology with maintenance: drift compensation helps, but cleaning still matters. The right technology ensures it only goes off when it truly matters. Would you upgrade your system for this feature — or keep relying on older detectors? 👇 #FireSafety #PropertyManagers #FalseAlarm #FireProtectionPhilippines #BuildingManagement

Airborne Particulate: The Invisible Threat Inside Data Centres. Yesterday I visited a data hall that looked clean to the naked eye. But when I checked in the racks, I found a layer of dust quietly building up on the fan inlets and other areas. The culprit? Economised air conditioning. “Well, on this occasion the location of the air inlets near a smoking area did not help”. Bringing in cool outside air is fantastic for energy savings — but it also brings in microscopic dust particles. Even with the correct MERV/ISO-rated filtration, fine particulates (sub-micron sizes) can bypass filters and accumulate in IT environments. Over time, those particles can: Clog server fans, leading to increased ΔP across server cooling fans Reduce airflow and cooling efficiency Settle on boards, creating risks of overheating or even short circuits Accelerated equipment wear and premature failure. The irony is, while economisers save money on energy, the hidden cost of dust ingress can be unplanned downtime and expensive equipment failures. The good news? With the right filtration, monitoring, and professional cleaning regimes, you can have both efficiency and reliability. If you would like help to deal with dust ingress into your facilities? Give me a call. https://lnkd.in/dh8Zn3uv For an example of a worst case, of dust ingress, due to economised air, see here: https://lnkd.in/eJRyqwHS #DataCentres #CriticalInfrastructure #Cooling #Operations #FacilityManagement

Surge: Why Your Power Strip Isn’t Protection Over the years, we've witnessed countless businesses make a costly error: trusting a $20 power strip to protect $20,000 worth of critical equipment. It’s a gamble that rarely pays off. Power strips wear out quickly and offer only minimal surge defense, leaving your valuable servers and machinery dangerously exposed. True surge protection requires industrial-grade Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) installed at the electrical panel. These devices are designed to absorb and divert massive voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes, utility switching, or internal faults—surges powerful enough to destroy sensitive electronics instantly. Relying on a power strip for protection is like wearing a bike helmet in a Formula 1 race: woefully inadequate. A Leading hospital we worked with faced repeated server crashes due to surges. After installing panel-level SPDs, their downtime plummeted, ensuring uninterrupted patient care and data security. Don’t risk your critical assets on inadequate protection. Invest in surge protection engineered for your facility’s demands. Unsure if your surge protection measures are sufficient? Contact us today to safeguard your business. #SPD #SurgeProtection #Facilities #Lightning Protection #AssetSafety #PowerQuality #FullspectrumSolutions
