Eu-SPRI Forum Annual Conference 2025 "Shaping Societal Futures Through Innovation Policy" Begins at Technische Universität Dortmund today! With over 340 participants from 31 countries across 5 continents, the global Science, Technology & Innovation policy community gathers in Dortmund to shape visions for just, resilient, and inclusive societal futures. 🌍 Today marks the first full day of the conference, starting with: 🔹 Opening by Jürgen Howaldt (Director, Social Research Center, TU Dortmund) 🔹 Welcome addresses from Cornelius Schubert (Dean of the Department of Social Sciences) and Emanuela Reale (President of the Eu-SPRI Forum) 🔹 A keynote by Uwe Cantner (Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena) on “A New Role of the State for (transformative) Innovation” Over the next three days we'll have: ✔️ 30 thematic tracks ✔️ 77 sessions ✔️ 5 special sessions ✔️ ~250 papers Popular themes include: 🚀 Mission-oriented vs. industrial innovation policy 🏛️ The role of universities in societal transitions 🌱 Social and transformative innovation ⚡ Responsible energy tech in a multi-crisis world 🤖 The role of AI in science and innovation policy We are most excited that the event is finally starting and warmly welcome you all to Technische Universität Dortmund!
