This article serves as an important reminder about quantum timelines. Many people view 2030 to 2035 as far off; however, this period represents a timeframe in which tasks should have been completed five years earlier, as outlined in the NSA/CNSA 2.0 timeline. Unfortunately, the necessary systems and technology roadmaps that organizations need to create in order to comply with quantum standards and achieve quantum readiness have already put them approximately three to five years behind schedule. To address this challenge, it is crucial to start automating crypto inventory and developing strategic roadmaps. Don't fall behind!

This one claws past the usual hype: quantum tech is a double-edged sword, not just a scary threat. Everyone’s shouting about the apocalypse of cryptography but forgets quantum can already buttress defenses with randomness that classical machines can’t fake. The feds are talking post-quantum crypto since forever, but now open quantum-secure improvements are getting traction. The scary bit? If you don’t prepare, a quantum hack on critical financial networks could hit GDP like a freight train. So yeah, it’s not just about when quantum computers arrive–it’s that “harvest now, decrypt later” tactic is real and ticking. No half-measures here.

Quantum Computing and Web3: Survival, Not Obsolescence Quantum computing will not make Web3 obsolete, but it will redefine its survival. Current blockchains rely on cryptographic systems like ECC and RSA that quantum computers could one day break, potentially exposing billions in value and undermining user trust. The good news is that post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards—Kyber, Dilithium, SPHINCS+—are already in place, and governments have set migration roadmaps through the 2030s. For Web3 to endure, protocols must integrate PQC at the wallet, custody, and consensus levels; redesign address formats and fee models for larger signatures; and coordinate governance for inevitable upgrades. Bridges, layer-2s, and custodians—today’s weakest links—must also migrate early, while legacy accounts with exposed public keys require proactive solutions. Survival is as much about narrative as it is about math: chains that align with national security standards and present themselves as “quantum-ready” will attract institutional trust and capital. The quantum era is not a death sentence for Web3 but its most critical stress test. Those who prepare will emerge stronger; those who don’t will fade into irrelevance. #Web3 #QuantumComputing #PostQuantumCryptography #BlockchainSecurity #FutureOfFinance #Cybersecurity #DigitalAssets #Decentralization #QuantumSafe #InstitutionalAdoption

Ready for the post-quantum era? Quantum computing is advancing fast—and classic cryptography like RSA and ECC is at risk. Regulators such as the EU are already mandating transition plans by 2026 and implementation in critical areas by 2030. What does this mean for your organization? Crypto-agility is key: organizations need the ability to adapt their cryptography quickly and securely to stay ahead of emerging threats and new regulations. Our latest article explains: 🔹 Why post-quantum cryptography (PQC) matters now 🔹 What challenges and new requirements to expect 🔹 How to build long-term resilience and compliance 👉 Read the full article on our website and discover how to embed crypto-agility in your organization: https://lnkd.in/e7__ivJG
