Composite Fiber Co Extrusion, also called CFC, is a leading continuous fiber 3D printing technology, one that builds on the proven success of continuous fiber, already trusted across industries from aerospace to sports. Now the Fiber Secret 3 brings this powerful technology into everyday creation. Then let's take a closer look at how CFC works. Fiber Seeker 3 features a dual nozzle system, one for regular plastic and one for continuous fiber. The right plastic print head works much like most standard FDM printers. Supporting most common FDM thermoplastic filaments. Let's switch to our composite print head. Now the continuous carbon fiber is being printed. At the left side we have our CFC printer. We use pre impregnated fibers with high fiber volume fraction which are heated and softened in the melting chamber alongside thermoplastic materials before being Co extruded to form the parts internal reinforcing infill. Here the Co extruded plastic acts as an adhesive ensuring stronger bonding between the fibers. And the outer contour plastic. More importantly, this Co extrusion process allows multiple common FDM materials like PLA, PET, GPC, PA, CF&PETGF to be printed alongside fibers, unlocking a wider range of applications. What's more, the flexible flow control of Co extruded filaments enable CFC technology to print internal fibers in interlaced patterns, creating multiple lattice infills. Steel 3D Printing Demonstrated Through Propeller Core Production In this video demonstration a propeller core was manufactured using Meltio ’s additive manufacturing technology in collaboration with DPR Automatismos México S.A. de C.V. The industrial client required prototypes for critical design tests and engaged DPR to evaluate the feasibility of steel 3D printing. Using the Meltio Engine integrated with an ABB robot, the part was successfully produced.
