So so happy to see the $180m acquistion of CalypsoAI by F5 get announced. Firstly to the founders Neil Serebryany & Victor Ardulov + the management team of James White & Donnchadh Casey. Plus the team along the way like Ilja Moisejevs & Brendan Quinlivan! Awesome day for my former colleagues at Frontline Ventures - who are b2b on a streak after Brightflag's exit last month - particularly 🌎🌍Will Prendergast who despite a lot of skepticism put his name to this wildcard pre-seed investment I had dug up in my first 6 months in the job. Back in December 2018 doing an investment in AI Security was one of those conversations that ended in - 'are there any customers who would actually need this outside of governments?' - gradient descent attacks, poison data attacks, everything was largely theoretical. And for many years, that skepticism was correct.
