Our CEO Markus Rauramo spoke in two sessions: 🎤 In a high-level dialogue with Kristian Ruby from Eurelectric and Anna-Kaisa Itkonen from the European Commission, the discussion focused on how Europe can secure clean, reliable energy while remaining globally competitive. The speakers highlighted how clean electrification is driving both competitiveness and climate ambition across Europe. 🎤 At a panel hosted by Energiateollisuus ry – Finnish Energy, Teknologiateollisuus - Technology Industries of Finland, Finnish Forest Industries Federation and Kemianteollisuus - Chemical Industry Federation of Finland, Markus emphasised the Nordic model of energy security—built on a balanced, fossil-free power mix and strong cooperation with authorities. At a panel discussion this morning, Finnish MEPs offered valuable perspectives on Europe’s role in a changing world. As a partner of the event, Fortum brought an energy angle to the conversation: how to position the Nordics as an attractive investment environment, leveraging the competitive electricity prices and a clean, well-functioning grid of the Nordics. The MEPs voiced strong support for: ✔️ Technology neutrality – ensuring all clean solutions, including nuclear, are part of the energy transition. ✔️ Strengthening cross-border grid resilience and enabling electrification across Europe.
