Finally crossed off a to-do list item that’s been haunting me for literal years: updating my personal website ✅ I’d been avoiding it because a cursed combo of old Ruby versions, an obscure Jekyll theme I picked in 2017, and the Apple M1 chip always seemed to generate a gnarly hairball of dependencies. But thanks to the modern miracle of Claude + Cursor, what was once impenetrable took me just 2 hours to untangle on a sunny day in my backyard. Honestly wild to imagine how many hours (years?) I may have saved if these tools had existed earlier in my coding life. If you’ve been putting off your own dusty corner of the internet, then (1) I see you, and (2) I swear we live in a different world now!
I just took a look at your website - love that the title is ./ Ginny Fahs! Such a succinct and beautiful way to communicate an important message
I did this a few weeks back! Not nearly as well. In the process of updating my website in 2025 for the first time since 2021, I found a 2023 blog post making fun of it for being out of date, in Dutch, which might be the funniest thing that's ever happened to me.
oh my gosh! i remember the weekend you created the original. Wild that what once took two full days can now take two quick hours.
I love that you have a user guide! And I should have my daughter reach out to you: she could use some interesting third spaces right about now (just coming off a months-long film project).
It’s the best right?? Feels like magic. Debugging some parts of Jekyll was my nightmare and so much easier now.
I totally feel you!! Been in the same trap for a loooong time now. Thanks for the inspiration to go get it done
Looking good!
with AI to help expedite the development process, there's hardly any excuse not to
Looks great!!
Applying AI to public problems
3wHa! I did the same just this weekend (using Claude Code)
