We left our jobs at Google and Meta, and moved back to India Our story got featured in multiple publications - Business Insider, Hindustan Times, NDTV etc Not the most obvious career move, right? But after nearly a decade in the US, Vaashu and I decided to pack our bags in late 2024 and return home Why? A mix of logic, emotion, and a little courage Here were our biggest reasons: - Booming tech scene India in 2024 isn’t the same India we left in 2016. Big Tech here is building world-class products, startup ecosystem is growing and salaries are competitive. - Family first Missing weddings, festivals, even our parents’ milestones made us realize what really mattered - Financial safety net Years in the US gave us enough stability to take this leap without fear of crunch - Visa restrictions H-1B meant no side hustles, no career breaks, and constant anxiety about renewals - Monotonous life Life in US felt like a struct routine. Chaos is bad, but it is what makes it fun Moving back wasn’t easy We left behind high-paying jobs and comfort But we gained something far more valuable: - Freedom, family, and a sense of belonging Would I recommend everyone do the same? - Not necessarily. Everyone want different things in life But if you’ve ever thought about moving back, it’s more possible (and rewarding) than you might think If you’ve made a similar move, would love to connect 🙌
Great.. Hope you get what you are looking for Hemant Pandey.
Courageous move, Hemant Pandey! So much respect for following your hearts over everything!
Moving back to your home, is a nobrainer :) Always!
Hey Hemant Pandey and Vaashu Sharma, Really resonated with your post — it aligns with our thought process and life choices. These decisions aren’t always easy, but sometimes they’re exactly what’s needed depending on the stage of life we’re in. I moved back to India 3 months back 🙂
Really inspiring! Great to see you follow what matters most. Wishing you both lots of success in this new journey back in India.
I moved back too :)
If you are building in India and I would love to have both of you solving a bigger problem. I am building Ridhara Mindcare and would love to associate with both of you for this. I know you might be doing great tech jobs but why not listen to my pitch and if you feel aligned let’s get started :)
Hemant Pandey Vaashu Sharma Your words, "Freedom, family, and a sense of belonging" echo what some studies and my discovery sessions with clients consistently reveals - "We as humans crave for connection, community and belonging." Wish you all the best in your life ahead.
Congrats man, Happiness is everything! Happy to see the life you are curating for yourself back home. Hemant Pandey

1dHemant Pandey earn in dollars and spend in Rupees. The only concept that pulls Indians back to home country after spending a good time in US. Love for home, parents, culture, blah blah blah was there as well when we leave to earn abroad. 😊
