Huntsman Corporation’s Post

It was a pleasure to welcome Cefic’s Energy & Climate team to our Rotterdam site. A climb up our 52-meter crystallizer (built in 2021 to produce MDI-based polyurethanes products) offered a vantage point that puts the scale of our industry and its challenges into perspective. The visit aimed to highlight the operational realities of the European chemicals sector and the urgent need for supportive energy and industrial policies. Together with Cefic we’re showing policymakers the real impact of decisions on facilities like ours. We hope to ensure the EU understands both the challenges we face and the critical need to support a competitive industry in Europe. “Huntsman Rotterdam is part of the world’s most efficient chlorine cluster, driving sustainable innovations like the Botlek Steam Network, and continuously improving our processes for greater efficiency and lower emissions. It is an asset we must protect and grow to enable our industry in Europe to compete globally,” — Kal Khogali, Director Operations, Huntsman Rotterdam #Huntsman #Cefic #Sustainability #IndustryLeadership #Rotterdam #ChemicalIndustry #EnergyPolicy #Innovation #Botlek #CrystallizerView #polyurethanes

Knowing is not enough - you have to use it. It is not enough to want - you also have to do it.

Back in 1996 with the construction of the woldscale MDI plant in Rozenburg , we enjoyed supportive energy and industrial EU policies. Under the leadership of Eric Barents, the plant was built in a record time. Congratulations Kai.
