🚀 AI-powered search is evolving — and it's changing the way we work. Microsoft is testing a new Windows 11 update that brings natural language search directly into the Copilot app. This means you can now search for files and images by simply describing them — no need to remember exact names or dates. 💼Whether you're looking for “the file with the chicken tostada recipe” or “the presentation I edited last week,” Copilot understands your intent and helps you find it faster. This feature is currently rolling out to Windows Insiders on Copilot+ PCs, building on the AI-powered search capabilities introduced earlier this year.✨ This is more than just a productivity boost — it's a glimpse into the future of intuitive computing, where your PC understands you better and works smarter. #Microsoft #Windows11 #Copilot #AI #FutureOfWork #Productivity #Innovation #CopilotPlusPCs #TechForGood #DigitalTransformation https://msft.it/6040sweC6

Semantic Search in Windows 11 but only for PCs Powered by Copilot+ PCs Microsoft has begun rolling out a AI-powered semantic search feature for Windows 11. With that function, you can in natural language search for files on your PC: for example: you can type “find my CV” or “photos of bridges at sunset” without having to remember exact filenames. Thanks to local AI processing on the device’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU), it can also search within the contents of your files matching your description to the actual content of documents, images, and more. All processing happens locally, meaning your data doesn’t leave your device. That's why this feature is exclusive to Copilot+ PCs; devices equipped with advanced NPUs delivering AI performance without draining battery life. CoPilot only has access to your recent files and files you gave access to CoPilot. Read more : https://lnkd.in/eHvZ3EWz

Microsoft makes a bold move. ⚠️WinUI will go Open Source⚠️ This is not just another update. Microsoft has confirmed that it will open source WinUI, the user interface framework behind Microsoft Windows 11. What does this mean for developers? 👉 The chance to build modern apps with seamless integration and consistent visuals across Windows. 👉 More transparency and collaboration: we’ll be able to see the code, learn from it, propose improvements, and innovate together. 👉 A real step toward a community that doesn’t just use Windows, but actually helps shape its future. But there are limits: the Windows Shell (Start menu, taskbar, File Explorer) will remain proprietary. WinUI won’t give access to those core elements. Microsoft is opening the door, but keeping control over the central experience (especially now with AI taking over the interface). The rollout will happen in 4 phases: 1️⃣ October 2025: more frequent internal commits synced to GitHub. 2️⃣ Full documentation so anyone can build WinUI locally. 3️⃣ Pull requests enabled and private dependencies removed. 4️⃣ GitHub becomes the main hub for development and community collaboration. Microsoft is opening up. Now it’s the community’s turn. #OpenSource #Microsoft #Windows11 #Developers #AI #Innovation

News and Updates: Microsoft’s Windows chief Pavan Davuluri says the next version of Windows—possibly Windows 12—will be an “ambient, multi-modal” OS powered by AI. Voice will become a primary input alongside keyboard and mouse, with context-aware features that understand what’s on your screen. Microsoft calls it an “agentic AI” future, blending local and cloud compute, though privacy concerns loom. Excel is testing a new =COPILOT

🔍 Google has declared war on Windows Search and Copilot with a new experimental desktop search app. It brings the macOS Spotlight experience to Windows, supercharged by Gemini 2.5, promising to eliminate slow, native searches. A simple Alt + Space shortcut instantly brings up the search bar. This gives you a single point of entry for everything: local files, installed apps, Google Drive documents, and the entire web. No more switching between windows. It integrates a powerful "search anything on the screen" feature using Google Lens. You can select code snippets, text within images, or UI design elements directly from your screen to search, translate, or identify them instantly. The AI mode, powered by Gemini 2.5, understands complex, natural language queries. For example, you can ask it to "find the final design draft for project A from last week and the related client emails." The AI then breaks your query into sub-tasks, searching both local and cloud storage simultaneously to deliver a single, intelligent, and comprehensive answer. You can even ask follow-up questions, like having a personal assistant. The best part? It's completely free and lightweight, making it a huge win for anyone looking for a high-efficiency, low-cost productivity boost. It truly unifies the fragmented Windows search experience into a single, powerful tool. While it's currently an experimental release for English users in the US (Windows 10+), it's a clear sign of Google's renewed focus on the desktop. Microsoft will begin automatically installing its Microsoft 365 Copilot AI app on Windows PCs that have Microsoft 365 desktop applications, with a global rollout starting in October and ending by mid-November, excluding the European Economic Area. This move aims to increase user adoption of Copilot, which is already integrated into the Microsoft 365 subscription and Edge browser, by providing a centralized entry point for its AI features. While system administrators can opt their organizations out of the installation, most individual users will not have this option, leading to concerns about unwanted bloatware. #Microsoft #TechGiants #Copilot #Windows #OS #Operatingsystems #Microsoft365 #AI #Bloatware #TechNews #Productivity #SoftwareUpdate #TechnologyNews https://lnkd.in/dunNTDjT
