The forces acting on a body with mass inside an elevator are not infinite between two points, but rather proportional to the elevator's acceleration. For this assumption, the same applies to the potential energy of a particle inside an elevator. Let's assume that a body with mass inside an elevator has kinetic energy proportional to the elevator's acceleration. Considering this, we can conclude that the potential energy of a particle inside an elevator is not infinite between two points.
