I'm excited to see TP4176 QoS finish up in NVMe, but the next challenge will be ensuring compatible implementations among vendors. Divergent interpretations will mean the whole ecosystem misses out. Vendors will spend a lot on development time, but Hosts will lack the ability to set parameters intelligently across a mixed deployment data center.
In case you missed it, Dan Helmick, Ph.D. of Samsung Electronics presented on behalf of NVM Express at FMS: the Future of Memory and Storage 2025 on the NVMe Quality of Service feature. The session breaks down standardized QoS control modes, key parameters, and simplified control knobs, and explores real-world use cases and example settings for SSDs. Watch the full presentation for a deep dive into intelligent QoS parameter setting and cross-vendor consistency in NVMe devices: https://bit.ly/4nmLnEV #NVMExpress #NVMe #FMS25

All the lines are parallel. Really. But your brain doesn’t see it that way. Just like Wi-Fi 7 chipsets -The specs look the same. -The promised speeds are identical. But in real-world tests, the performance isn't even close. At Excentis, we put three PCI-E Wi-Fi 7 cards to the test. Same spec sheets. Very different results, up to 4x throughput difference. What you see isn’t always what you get. And when it comes to wireless performance, trusting the label isn’t enough. 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟰 𝗼𝗳 #𝟭𝟬𝟬𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗢𝗳𝗢𝗧𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 Fingerprinting Industrial Devices Every industrial device leaves a trace—a “fingerprint.” By looking at protocol behavior, communication patterns, and device responses, we can identify what’s really out there in an OT environment. Device fingerprinting helps defenders detect rogue equipment, spot misconfigurations, and baseline “normal.” Without it, you’re flying blind. Have you ever found something unexpected on your OT network? #industrial #protocol #communication #defender
