Jeff Maggioncalda’s Post

Reflecting on an Incredible Journey at Coursera As I prepare to retire as CEO of Coursera, I’ve been reflecting on our remarkable journey over the past seven and a half years. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside such a passionate and talented team, as well as a global community of partners, to advance Coursera’s mission of transforming lives through learning. Together, we’ve achieved so much: growing our platform to over 160 million learners, expanding partnerships with world-class universities and industry leaders, serving the world during the pandemic, and completing our IPO. I’m especially proud of how Coursera has embraced generative AI and other transformative technologies to unlock new possibilities for learners, educators, and institutions worldwide. A heartfelt thank you to Andrew Ng, our Founder and Chairman, and the Coursera Board for their trust, guidance, and unwavering commitment to Coursera’s mission. I’m deeply grateful for their vision and support throughout my time as CEO. My gratitude also goes out to every Courserian, our partners, our customers, and everyone who has been part of this journey. Your dedication and belief in Coursera’s mission have inspired me every day. I also want to extend my congratulations to Greg Hart, who will be stepping into the role of CEO. Greg brings exceptional leadership and a wealth of experience, and I’m confident he will guide Coursera to even greater heights. Although I’m retiring, my belief in Coursera’s mission and its impact remains as strong as ever. I truly believe that access to education creates more equal opportunity, and more equal opportunity creates a more just world. The world needs Coursera now more than ever. Here’s to the continued journey of transforming lives through learning.

Jeff, from the bottom of my heart, GRACIAS!! Thank you for being a kind, intelligent, and curious leader, but above all, an incredible human. You led by example, and through that example, you taught me how to be a better coworker, friend, and son. You also showed me that humility is the truest sign of confidence. No matter your role, you were always kind to everyone. Whether it was a doorman or a Head of State, you treated all with the same respect and warmth. Finally, thank you for inspiring me to go the extra mile in bringing education to over 16 million learners in my beloved Latin America
