After working for the past year on what started as a side project, it’s finally the right moment to spend more dedicated time on exploring the role of design in building a more connected, accessible and ambitious Europe, as Partner and Managing Director of 21st Europe. Having worked with Kaave Pour at SPACE10 for several years, when he first pitched his idea for 21st Europe it felt like all the potential of SPACE10 being put toward something we shared a passion for – using design to find ways to not only imagine, but also set into action ideas for a better home, a better Europe. We launched 21st Europe earlier this year, starting by reimagining what a high-speed rail network that truly connects Europe would mean with Starline. Since then, we’ve had an incredible response that has motivated us to dedicate more time to seeing what this can become, and I’m thrilled to lead this next phase. On 22 August, we’ll present our second blueprint, Continent of Play, designed in collaboration with Spacon & X, at Designmuseum Danmark. The event, hosted together with Design denmark, will include a small summit and Friday bar to present the blueprint and debate design’s role in Europe.
