Futures and Design at Stanford d.school. Building better organizational and civic futures.

The day you get to go to work and host a conversation with two dear colleagues, friends, mentors, and guides about connecting your "Gifts to Goals" to shape more positive, inclusive and powerful communities and futures... well, that day was TODAY! I had the absolute privilege of interviewing StreetCode Academy Olatunde Sobomehin and Stanford d.school sam seidel about their amazing book, "Creative Hustle: Blaze Your Own Path, And Make Work that Matters." What started as a class collaboration at the Stanford d.school, then became an extraordinary book, and has since become a growing movement. As they say, "The World Needs Your Creative Hustle!" Creative Hustle blends the "alchemy of imagination and ambition that will enable you to apply your gifts to reach your goals." This book—and these extraordinary humans—illuminate, fuel, and amplify what's possible in a deeply connected way. Their framework for connecting your GIFTS to GOALS is both simple and profound (see attached picture!): PRINCIPLES : Serve as your personal compass, your foundational "code" fueled by your values and purpose. PEOPLE: Your copilots, your team, and extended network and allies who can help steward, shape and share your goals. PRACTICES: Your rituals, actions, and daily moves that remind you of the agency you have, even when the world feels overwhelming. To anyone looking to bridge the gap between passion, purpose and impact, Creative Hustle offers a roadmap that's both practical and deeply human. And to my dear friends Tunde and sam—thank you for the reminder that the best work happens when we show up authentically and lift others as we climb. And, thank you, Stanford Engineering Center for Global & Online Education for making this possible in such a joyful and fun way! 🙏 🚀 💫 #CreativeHustle #Leadership #Community #Design #Futures

Thank you for this beautiful reflection on our time together today, and the accurate depiction of and generous endorsement of the book. I tell you this often but will take this chance to reiterate publicly: You are one of the absolute best interviewers I have ever seen do it. You ask great questions, listen closely, and then instantly synthesize what you hear. I’ve seen you do it many times now and am still wowed by it. It was fun to get to be on the interviewee side of it today.

We enjoyed having you in the studio, Lisa!
