With 39,255 fans per game, Father's Day marked the highest average Sunday attendance for Major League Baseball since 2008. In addition, the weekend's total of nearly 1.7 million fans was the second-largest 45-game weekend in 17 seasons.

This is excellent news. However, I do hope Commissioner Manfred will work harder to convince team owners that, first, a lockout in 2027 would be a terrible idea and, second, fans need more ways to watch broadcasts of games that do not depend on paying for MLB.TV.
