Coming back from RE+ I share below some of my takeaways. But most of all, what I’d like to spread is the feeling that Renewables and Clean Energy are alive and prospering; 40,000 people and more than 160 companies are passionate and active implementing and looking for solutions to climate change, the most important challenge we face as inhabitants of this planet. · Despite Federal measures, State and Local governments are hungry for and active in renewables. Plenty of projects in the pipeline and opportunities for future growth · Battery storage needs to take a central role in energy projects to realize the full value of the clean ecosystem · There is a need to reimagine the residential solar model to fully leverage the 5.5M homes with solar PV in the U.S. o Demand Response programs need to become ‘invisible’ to consumers to increase adoption, vs. requiring active involvement from home-owners o Missing a standardized protocol for software interaction of smart devices · Growing demand for electricity from data centers and electrification demands more capacity right now. Virtual Power Plants (aggregations of customer-owned energy devices like batteries, thermostats, and electric vehicles) are the fastest-to-build, affordable and reliable capacity that we can build · Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid still needs to tackle obstacles such as access for multifamily housing, standardization of bidirectional chargers, and reliability of the asset for DER · AI clearly has practical applications to support the energy transition. Saw examples of it being used for speedy interconnection permitting processing, robotic installation of solar panels, or to detect precursors of battery storage fires · The energy conservation mindset in the U.S. lags significantly vs. other regions, we must awaken the awareness, urgency and activism sense in the general population to accelerate positive change #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #OnePlanet

𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟𝐟: 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗲’𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱, courtesy of Gemini and inspired by Tameron McGurren-Leal’s post. What can the world's biggest power couple teach us about power grids? The frenzy around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce is a perfect metaphor for flexible energy load: the ability to adjust electricity use to match supply, keeping our grid stable and clean. It’s an opportunity to “𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟𝐟”. Here are five lessons: 1. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐔𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲): Their relationship dropped unexpectedly, creating a massive spike in attention. The grid sees similar spikes from heatwaves. Flexible load lets us quickly reduce non-essential use to manage the surge without firing up costly peaker plants. 2. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐫𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 (𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠): Each concert creates a huge, predictable demand spike. Our grid sees this daily from 5-9 PM. Flexibility means shifting tasks like EV charging to off-peak hours to "shave the peak" and reduce system stress. 3. 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 (𝐀𝐠𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬): A single photo can go viral. Individually small, their collective impact is massive. This is a Virtual Power Plant (VPP): thousands of smart thermostats and batteries, aggregated to provide major grid support. 4. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 (𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬): Cities welcome the economic benefits of a tour stop. Their utilities may offer flexible rates or payments. When stability has tangible value for the user, everyone wins. 5. 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 (𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧): Their public life is managed by coordinated teams. A flexible grid requires the same real-time communication between utilities, aggregators, and smart devices to make it all work. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲: The future grid must be dynamic and responsive. We need to be as strategic with our energy demand as they are with their careers. #FlexibleLoad #DemandResponse #EnergyTransition #SmartGrid #VPP #TaylorSwift #TravisKelce #CleanTech #Innovation #GridModernization

As the world pushes for energy efficiency and climate-conscious living, smart meters give us the insights needed to drive change: 1. They help identify wastage and unusual patterns. 2. Support renewable integration into the grid. 3. Provide transparency and fairness in billing. 4. Encourage households and businesses to take charge of their consumption. In the bigger picture, they are key players in implementing energy-efficient policies that benefit everyone—from individuals to entire nations. With energy demand rising, we can’t afford to manage blindly. Smart meters light the way to smarter, sustainable choices. #EnergyManagement #SmartUtilities #DigitalTransformation #CleanTechnology #IoTForGood #EnergyInnovation #GreenLiving #SustainableDevelopment #DataDriven #SmartGrids

🌞 How Do Solar Panels Work? 🌞 Solar panels may look simple on rooftops or in large solar farms, but the science behind them is both fascinating and impactful. Here’s a closer look at the journey of sunlight as it transforms into clean, usable electricity: 🔹 1. Sunlight (Photons): The process starts when sunlight, made up of tiny particles called photons, reaches the solar panel. 🔹 2. Energy Absorption: When photons strike the solar cells (typically made of silicon), they knock electrons loose from the silicon atoms. 🔹 3. Current Generation: These freed electrons begin to move, creating an electric current as they flow between positive and negative charges inside the solar cell. 🔹 4. Direct Current (DC): The flow of electrons travels through conductive wiring at the edge of the panel, producing direct current (DC) electricity. 🔹 5. Conversion to Alternating Current (AC): Since most homes and industries use AC power, an inverter converts the DC into alternating current (AC). 🔹 6. Power Supply & Grid Connection: The usable electricity is then supplied to the building. Any excess energy can be exported to the utility grid, reducing bills and often earning credits for surplus generation. ⚡ This entire process happens almost instantly whenever sunlight hits the panels — a seamless conversion of natural energy into power we use every day. By harnessing this clean and renewable source, we can: ✅ Reduce dependency on fossil fuels ✅ Lower carbon emissions ✅ Achieve energy independence ✅ Support a sustainable future Solar energy is more than technology — it’s progress towards a greener tomorrow. #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CleanTech #GreenFuture #Innovation

𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚-𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚: 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 & 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐬 Australia leads the world in rooftop solar. On some days, solar panels on homes and businesses now supply more than half of the electricity in the grid. While this is a huge win for clean energy, it also creates new challenges. Too much solar at once: When many houses export power at the same time, electricity can actually flow backwards in the grid, which it was not originally designed to handle. Voltage spikes: Extra solar can push voltages higher than safe levels, which risks tripping panels offline and damaging equipment. System security: In 2020, a major event showed that thousands of rooftop solar systems all shut down suddenly during a disturbance, making the problem worse. What’s being done? New rules mean modern inverters must stay connected and support the grid instead of switching off. Networks like SA Power are rolling out “flexible exports”, where households can export more when the grid can take it, and less when it’s stressed. AEMO is trialling emergency controls to safely switch off solar only in rare situations when demand gets extremely low. The way forward: If we combine smart inverters, flexible export limits, and better monitoring of local networks, we can keep the grid stable and let more households benefit from rooftop solar. A quick question, Do you really think solar energy is less harmful in terms of polluting the environment? This summer has felt like the grid is sweating right alongside us. Record-breaking heat is pushing demand to extremes, and while operators are working hard to keep the lights on, it's clear we need smarter tools to manage energy at every level—generation, transmission, distribution, and even at the last mile. NextNRG's AI-driven microgrids don't just provide backup power—they bring foresight. By forecasting energy generation across hybrid sources and monitoring asset health in real time, we're helping grid operators anticipate stress before it turns into an outage. In a world where extreme heat is no longer an exception but the new normal, resilience won't come from bigger systems alone—it will come from smarter ones. If you're a critical stakeholder caught in the crosshairs of these challenges, you should be talking to us. https://bit.ly/45D2MTV #EnergyResilience #GridModernization #SmartGrid #CleanTech #EnergyInnovation #PowerGrid #EnergyStorage #AIEnergy #SustainableEnergy #EnergyManagement #ClimateResilience #EnergyTech #Microgrids #EVCharging #EnergyEfficiency
