AI is of course the hottest topic - to make sense of it all and to inspire us to be AI-native at Amgen India so we can better tackle some of world's toughest disease in the service of patients, who better that the remarkable Shailendra J Singh, Managing Partner of Peak XV ( formerly Sequoia Asia) managing about $9B assets. Shailendra spent an hour with Amgen India Leadership team in Singapore recently. My top 3 insights from our interaction - 1. This is a great time to leverage the new AI tech stack that is emerging. AI applications are coming at a 'ferocious velocity'. We need to move now as in a few years, application such as self configuring software, AI-agent only databases, browsers etc will be the new reality, redefining work 2. Culture is the #1 ingredient for large companies to advance. The 5-10% of top companies that are embracing these disruptions are doing it by creating culture of experimentation, combined with focussed empowered teams and fearless selfless leaders driving the change 3. The path to excellence is through pain. Expect to make tough choices. Easy choices lead to mediocrity. Mission-focussed companies could have it easier. Many thanks Shailendra for your candid insights. We will be sure to learn and adapt as we set out with Brave New Thinking at Amgen India. Som Chattopadhyay Anumita Tripathi
Nice pic Sir ..
Powerful takeaways! The reminder that culture and courageous leadership are the real accelerators of AI adoption resonates deeply technology alone can’t transform without people willing to experiment, learn fast, and make tough calls. Excited to see how Amgen India channels this mindset to turn AI disruption into breakthroughs for patients.
