🔍 AI Overviews Are Trackable in Google Search Console We observed an interesting scenario with one of our clients. Position for a strong keyword that triggered an AI Overview dropped to Page 2 for its main landing page. A few days later, the AI Overview for this keyword changed: 🔹 The client’s brand was mentioned in the text and was the only entity linked. 🔹 The link pointed to a different URL on the same domain, which had not ranked organically for this keyword before. Why this is interesting: 🔹 The new URL appears only in the AI Overview ‼️ 🔹 It generated measurable clicks and impressions in Google Search Console exactly when it was displayed. 🔹 GSC shows Position 1, although it is unclear whether this reflects the actual organic ranking or a “pseudo-position” driven by AI Overview visibility. 💡 Additional insight: We were also able to track this behavior via Peec AI, providing another layer of monitoring and verification.
