👷♀️⚡ Can AI help us plan and operate the grid for an uncertain future? 🧠🔌 That’s the question I dive into in my latest article for Energy Intel Q2 by @AESP. If you work in utilities or AI, this one’s for you. We all see what’s coming — EVs, DERs, extreme weather, policy shifts. What’s less clear is how to plan confidently for a grid that’s changing faster than our spreadsheets can handle. In this piece, I explore: 🌀 Why deterministic planning is no longer enough 🧮 How probabilistic methods and AI can help us embrace uncertainty 🧩 What it takes to bridge long-term planning with real-time grid flexibility 🤝 And why planners, regulators, data scientists, and operators must start speaking the same language The TL;DR? We need smarter, more adaptive tools — and better alignment — to make the future grid work. 💬 I’d love to hear from others working at the intersection of grid planning & operations and AI: How are you using new tools, data, or frameworks to rethink planning? #GridPlanning #AIinEnergy #DERs #EnergyTransition #Utilities #AESP #Resilience #CleanEnergy #EnergyAI #FutureGrid #UtilityLeadership #SmartGrid #MachineLearning #ArtificialIntelligence #PowerSystems #GridModernization #Sustainability #EnergyManagement Oracle Oracle Utilities

Completely agree. At Siemens, we truly believe we need to rethink grid management - both planning and operations and with Gridscale X offerings we enable utilities, DSOs, DNOs to handle the grid chaos.
Thanks for sharing Sameer K. . It is all about leveraging the Digital Technologies like AI, Blockchain, Mobility, Automation, others to drive the values from the Energy Transition (Smart Meter, Smart Grid, Smart Consumer, Smart Renewable) transformation. As you rightly said, many of these assets are behind the meters, so an ecosystem needs to be built with customer participation along with the utilities and other stakeholders to drive more as a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). AI-ML has a big role to play when it comes to VPP. Last thing is we need to balance between deterministic vs. probabilistic.
