With great power comes great responsibility.

Totally agree that AI + MCP to databases can unlock a whole world of self-serve BI and the challenge now is how to get it to work reliably and securely.

I was trying custom agent and successfully connected to sqlcl MCP server which you can see in the image (all mcp action was discoverable). The issue is it was unable to connect to my remote database that i create & saved as MCP-compatible connection. Gemini Agent was able to find all local saved connection too from sql developer but when i ask it to connect, seems it is trying to connect in local database. Is that a current limitation for remote connection using ip?

After using MCP for Oracle Database! which is something I was excited about and also concerned about. Very useful information and the responsibility is on you that how you implement is but possibilities are wide!

What I like about this, how quickly MCP-iing a database has become a better approach than RAG-ing a database.

Top post. Very useful for every person or company trying to find out the right way to use MCP servers, more specifically with Oracle database. The avenue of new possibilities is wide and open to creativity.
