The #WaitsiaGasField, one of Australia’s largest onshore discoveries, is now entering Stage 2 operations, with the capacity to deliver up to 250 TJ/day. This expansion is set to play a key role in meeting the world’s growing #LNG demand while continuing to support domestic supply for Western Australian industries and consumers. A pivotal aspect of LNG production is the use of Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) to prevent #hydrateformation and ensure smooth flow during production and transportation. 🔥 Always in the news: LPG, a key player in the energy transition 🔥 Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plays a crucial role in today’s energy mix. Here’s a simplified overview of how it is produced and prepared for export: 🔹 Debutanizer Column At the top of the debutanizer column, LPG is recovered with a minimum recovery rate of 88%. The stream is primarily composed of propane (C3, >90%) with smaller amounts of butane (C4). At moderate pressure and high temperature, it exits in vapor form. 🔹 Air Refrigerants The vapor passes through a series of air-coolers (fans) to reduce its temperature, condensing into liquid. 🔹 Vertical Drum (Knock-out Drum) The liquid LPG is collected in a drum where water and other heavier components are separated by gravity. 🔹 Horizontal Centrifugal Pumps From there, LPG is pumped to the pretreatment section. 🔹 Pretreatment (Purification) Through molecular sieve adsorption, H₂S and mercury are removed to meet export specifications. 🔹 Storage & Export The purified LPG is stored in large pressurized spheres, then transferred to terminal facilities for export overseas.
