What would you do with €300,000 to improve healthcare access? This year, Philips Foundation launched the first-ever Social Impact Award, inviting employees across Philips to share bold ideas for shaping the future of healthcare for underserved communities.. From empowering frontline health workers to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease in India to strengthening maternal health for Indigenous communities in the US, the proposals were innovative, scalable and inspiring. Watch the highlights of the global finale below and see which project will receive the award to make their idea a reality: https://lnkd.in/eh9jmAk6 #HealthEquity #HealthForAll #GlobalHealth

Inspiring work, Philips Foundation, love seeing bold ideas aimed at access, not headlines. One angle for future cohorts: daytime breathing access. Most respiratory tools “own the night,” but underserved communities spend 6-8 hours on screens and in stress, where breath-holds and shallow breathing quietly pile up. We’re building CMAP(cContinuously Monitoring Airway Pressure) at BreethWell, a low-cost, truly ambulatory daytime breathing monitor with gentle 30-second resets. It makes the “missing 16 hours” visible and coachable on a basic smartphone, with consumables priced for scale. With support like your €300k in-kind model, we could finalize manufacturing design and launch community pilots to help people breathe better, feel safer, and engage more with existing sleep/BP/mental-health programs. If this resonates for the Foundation’s access mission, happy to share a two-page brief and discuss how CMAP could slot into Philips’ ecosystem and non-profit partnerships. Incredible to see colleagues from across the world channeling their creativity and passion into solutions that expand healthcare access. The ideas shared—from maternal health to cardiovascular awareness—show the power of innovation when focused on underserved communities. Excited to see how the winning project will make a real-world impact!
It reminds me of the old ideeënbus (letterlijk een “bus voor ideeën.”), and PQA competitions, which were fantastic tools for driving bottom-up improvement by employees ." Good to see that it starts a new life. 👏
It's amazing to combine responsibility with bold ideas and a creative team! 👏
Inspiring to see how innovative thinking and purposeful action can unlock new ways of expanding healthcare access. Initiatives like this turn ideas into tangible impact for communities that need it most. Real KUDOS.
