Congratulations to our Placer County Conservation Program (PCCP) on the acquisition of Raccoon Creek Ranch north of Lincoln!

The Placer Conservation Authority is proud to announce the permanent protection of the 4,245-acre Raccoon Creek Ranch, formerly known as the Teichert property, through a significant conservation easement. This landmark achievement is a critical step in preserving western Placer County's ecological and agricultural integrity. Key highlights of this project include: • Strategic Conservation: The property contains the largest concentration of prime farmland in Placer County and is now protected in perpetuity from development. • Habitat Restoration: The program will undertake restoration projects to enhance riverine and wetland habitats, including six miles of streams vital for salmon and steelhead. • Connected Ecosystem: This acquisition links an additional 3,000 acres of conserved land, creating a large, connected ecological reserve system. This landscape-scale conservation success was made possible through mitigation fees collected from development projects, demonstrating a sustainable funding model for conservation implementing the goals and objectives of the Placer County Conservation Program. We extend our gratitude to our partners and the community for their ongoing support in prioritizing open space and environmental conservation. https://lnkd.in/dzvpAf9u
