In today’s rapidly advancing technological landscape, data centres play a pivotal role. As the world becomes more digital, with the abundance of cloud computing, advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), and adoption of 5G, the need for robust data centres continues to grow. This trend is set to accelerate, with the global data centre market projected to expand by 10% annually over the next three years, reaching a market volume of nearly £386 billion by 2027. Tomorrows newsletter will focus on Sovereign Cloud and why it's gaining traction in the UK and Europe. I won't go into the reasons here so you'll have to read the newsletter tomorrow. Interestingly at DCD Connect this week i ended up having a number of conversations about Sovereign Cloud so its something that is gaining traction. This can only be a good thing for the DC industry. This also comes on the back of the news Billions will be invested in the UK following the state visit of President Trump on technology especially around AI infrastructure. Will be interesting to see if the UK Gov has done a deal on energy subsides as compared to the US our costs are astronomical! #ai #gpu #hpc #colocation #datacenters #aifactory #cloud #sovereigncloud

On September 7, 2017, AT&T announced that its researchers had achieved a world-first 400-gigabit Ethernet connection in a lab trial, a milestone in high-speed network innovation. Conducted at AT&T Labs, the demonstration proved the ability to transmit enormous volumes of data over significant distances, showing how next-generation internet infrastructure could support bandwidth-heavy developments like AI, 5G, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things using wavelength services. 📱🌐 #Telecom #Innovation #ATT

If your smart system needs to check in with the cloud every time a light turns on or a lock clicks shut, you’re creating a bottleneck. It might work fine with 50 devices. But at scale, the latency, cost, and failure points compound. One approach I’ve seen gaining ground: using private blockchains to reduce that dependency. Not because it’s trendy, but because it’s practical. Private blockchains let devices validate interactions locally, using lightweight consensus mechanisms. That means faster processing, less cloud reliance, and fewer outages caused by server overload. In short: the system can keep working, even if the internet doesn’t. It’s a smart fit for teams trying to move past the limits of traditional cloud-bound architectures. There’s a solid breakdown of how this works (and where the benefits really show up) in this piece: https://lnkd.in/dS6S-ynx
