🎉 Following the announcement of the 1TWh milestone, we are pleased to announce that all three floating wind platforms for the LES EOLIENNES FLOTTANTES DU GOLFE DU LION (EFGL) project are now hooked up to their mooring systems off the coast of Leucate and Le Barcarès, bringing the project one step closer to completion! Pierre BUISSON, Vice President Engineering Projects, said: “We congratulate the project owners OW Ocean Winds and Banque des Territoires, our customer Eiffage Métal, Vestas, and the many other supply chain partners who are making this project happen. We also extend a special thank you to the current and past Principle Power team members, whose expertise and commitment have been critical for achieving this milestone." "The successful installation of the EFGL project will mark a new step for floating offshore wind in the Mediterranean, providing confidence ahead of the 2 x 250 MW projects awarded to OW and EDF last year and the upcoming AO9 and AO10, which bring the total projects awarded in this region to 3.5 GW by the end of 2026. We now look forward to seeing EFGL connected to the grid so that the project can start providing clean power to Occitanie!” This stage concludes the offshore installation phase of the pilot wind farm. It will be followed in the coming weeks by the laying of the inter-wind turbine cables, the connection of the export cable by RTE, and the commissioning of the wind farm.
