For the second repository, Canada’s Nuclear Waste Management Organization has begun public engagement ahead of a planned 2028 launch of the site selection 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴. If every country, every region, and every new nuclear program takes more than a decade per repository, and at the same time, global nuclear waste volumes are set to triple, the bottlenecks become clear.
