Hartford Buildings + Structures recently engineered a 126’ x 30’, 42,220 lb. LED sign for Stew Leonard's Yonkers, navigating scope changes and cutting costs by ~50% through value engineering and the reuse of materials. The team designed the support structure to allow installation without closing the store. For staff designer A’shon, it was a milestone project—the first he’s worked on and seen finished. A’shon shared, “It was like receiving an A+ on an exam that you studied really hard for over a long period of time, knowing it was worth two letter grades. Then knowing that they are happy with their sign makes the stress of getting this to work was worth it,” Even after nearly 20 years in the industry, Project Manager James Papa says “...that feeling of accomplishment never fades”.
