Friday project spotlight- reactive emergency support 📯 When Network Rail identified a high-level boundary wall at an operational station car park as unsafe due to vegetation growth weakening the structure, quick action was essential. Working alongside Amco for Network Rail, QED Scaffolding was tasked with designing and installing a reactive support and access scaffold. The wall, overhanging an occupied office courtyard, required a solution that delivered both safety and access, without disrupting station operations. 🏗️ Our team, supported by RDG Engineering’s specialist design, installed a cantilevered drop scaffold using a modular system to serve a dual purpose: ✔️ Securely support the unstable wall ✔️ Provide safe access for remedial works To meet the urgency, our crews worked back-to-back shifts, day and night, ensuring that the scaffold was promptly in place and fully compliant. These pics show the precision, planning, and teamwork that went into delivering this challenging project safely and efficiently. #QEDscaffolding #reactiverepairs #emergencyworks #scaffoldingsafety

A nationwide leader in fleet cleaning services required structural reinforcement at one of their facilities, with rusting members presenting a potential safety concern. T&M Design provided engineering oversight and construction management to stabilize the structure, navigate permitting, and implement additional upgrades to maximize the value of scheduled downtime. By combining structural restoration with site enhancements, we helped this commercial truck wash avoid costly future disruptions and extend the life cycle of a critical facility. 🔗 Read the full case study → https://lnkd.in/e4RDcSC7 #IndustrialEngineering #ConstructionManagement #FacilityUpgrades #EngineeringWithImpact

We had the chance to visit one of our domestic projects today and witness over 20 ground screws being drilled on-site. Seeing the installation process up close was an incredible experience. This system offers real benefits, speed, strength, longevity, and sustainability, all without the need for heavy concrete. By reducing concrete use, we are also helping to lower embodied carbon, which is an important step in making even small-scale projects more environmentally responsible. Huge thanks to the GBGS team for sharing their expertise and walking us through the process. 🚤 Did you know boat ramps need regular inspections too? Our engineers were recently in North Fort Myers performing a Boat Ramp Inspection for one of our valued clients. Boat ramps are exposed to constant water contact, heavy vehicle loads, and environmental wear—making them prone to cracking, erosion, and hidden structural damage. Routine inspections like this are essential to: ✅ Identify early signs of deterioration ✅ Ensure safety for community members and visitors ✅ Extend the lifespan of the facility ✅ Prevent costly emergency repairs At Velocity Engineering Services, we partner with Associations and Facility Managers to provide a full suite of Facility Improvement & Maintenance Services—from evaluating current conditions and preparing project specifications, to obtaining contractor bids and overseeing construction. Whether it’s boat ramps, roadways, concrete structures, or community facilities, our team helps Associations protect their investments and keep amenities safe and functional for years to come. 📍 Serving communities across SWFL with practical, trusted engineering solutions.

Permanent Roof Access, Engineered for Facilities 🛠️ Outdated cages and fixed ladders were never designed for long-term use on critical infrastructure, yet too many facilities still rely on them. The Result? 🚫 Inefficient access, safety risks, and systems that don’t last. Z-Stack 's Innovative Engineering Changes Everything: 💡 Purpose-built for permanent roof access in facilities like distribution centers, tank farms, and silos, Z-Stack delivers the stability, compliance, and efficiency that temporary and outdated solutions can’t match. 🔑 Why facilities are making the switch: ✅ Modular design adapts to complex layouts ✅ Permanent, OSHA-compliant access with zero guesswork ✅ Simplifies material handling and maintenance operations ✅ Engineered durability for years of safe use From Fortune 500 distribution hubs to industrial production sites, SafeSmart is raising the standard for how facilities think about roof access. With new safety standards requiring fall arrest systems on caged and fixed ladders, Z-Stack helps facilities avoid costly fines by providing compliant, future-ready access solutions. Z-Stack isn’t just replacing outdated roof access; it’s redefining permanent access. #zstack #safesmartaccessusa #construction #constructionsite #constructionlife #engineering #industrial #jobsitesafety #worksmarternotharder #safetyfirst #safetysolutions #workplacesafety #civilengineering #industrialsolutions #osha #equipmentmaintenance #facilitymanagement #manufacturing #roofaccess #scaffolding #architecturalengineering #maintenance #fallprotection #contractors #distributioncenter #industrialsite #stairs

💡 Low price does not mean low cost. In construction, chasing the lowest price often leads to: ❌ Higher labor needs ❌ More downtime ❌ Safety risks and costly rework That’s why smart contractors are shifting to modular edge protection systems—they focus on efficiency, durability, and safety, not just the purchase price. I’m Pieter. For 11 years, I’ve been helping builders make edge protection Safer, Faster, Smarter. If you want to cut true costs—not just the price tag—let’s connect. #apacsafety #edgeprotection #rcframe #heightsafety #formwork #highriseconstruction #worksitesafety #concreteconstruction

The Hidden Costs of Cutting Corners in Network Construction On paper, shortcuts can look like savings. In the field, they turn into rework, downtime, and client frustration. When contractors skip proper trench depth or use lower-grade fiber to “stay on budget,” here’s what really happens: Uneven trenches lead to exposed cables — which get damaged faster. Poor-quality splicing weakens the signal and invites future outages. Rushed installs often require repeat site visits — which cost time, money, and trust. At Pearl Connections, we take a different approach: 🔹 We build once — the right way. 🔹 We invest in skilled crews, premium materials, and end-to-end testing. 🔹 We design for longevity, not just launch day. Because what looks “cheaper” today becomes expensive tomorrow. You don’t just pay for installation. You pay for how long it lasts — and how well it performs under pressure. That’s why quality is non-negotiable. And that’s the standard we deliver.

Izabelle De Los Santos and I are proud to be part of the GPRS team, partnering with Clune Construction Company on this 90,000+ sqft project spanning 3 floors. Our role is to scan and map the PT and conduit layout to ensure a safe and efficient workflow. This project includes two 300 sqft stair cut-outs and over 80 core locations that are to be scanned. In this building, PT cables and conduits have been struck in the past — costly mistakes that we’re here to prevent. By scanning first, we help protect structural integrity, keep the project on schedule, and create a smoother, safer work floor for everyone involved. Here’s a timelapse of a portion of a part of the work completed.

As a part of WaterOne's commitment to maintaining reliable infrastructure, regular inspections are conducted on the inside of transmission mains as a part of their condition assessment program. This inspection process often takes several hours as workers navigate inside a cramped 36- inch pipe. The previous method of inspecting the pipes involved the tedious process of disassembling and reassembling a modified garden cart to slide along the pipe's interior for inspections. However, two employees, Distribution Technician Kevin Bolen and Fleet Mechanic Craig Griffin, envisioned a more comfortable and efficient solution for conducting these inspections. The pair created an enhanced inspection cart utilizing steel tubing, rollerblade wheels, and a boat seat. "The new carts enhance our ability to perform visual and sounding or acoustic inspections more quickly," says Kevin. "We can spend less time making adjustments to the carts or going back to retrieve tools, allowing us to focus more on the inspections." This innovative cart earned Kevin and Craig a third-place award in the Gimmicks and Gadgets category at the American Water Works Association Water Infrastructure Conference!
