Supervised learning, for all its success, has a major limitation: it depends on massive amounts of carefully labeled data. This approach is great for creating highly specialized AI models, but it's a bottleneck for developing more intelligent, generalist systems that can handle multiple tasks. Just like humans learn by observing the world, acting on it, and making hypotheses, AI needs a new paradigm to move closer to human-level intelligence. The current method of labeling everything is not sustainable. There's simply too much data, and for some tasks, there's not enough to begin with. The future of AI lies in models that can understand the world more deeply, going beyond what’s explicitly specified in their training data.
