Industry never ceases to amaze… As I marvel at this capability. Having watched development of the satellite industry accross almost 30years and Gbps to most isnt considered the abnormal anymore or groundbreaking, achieving it by any means jn Satellite gives me goosebumps when I remember what we used to do with mere kilobits per second via space. My only concern and question remains in the LEO market is can our humanitarian and environmental study keep pace with this innovation as we launch more and more of these short life / return to earth and burn up in high altitude satellites…

Throughout the entire #BEAD process I have had countless conversations with people across government and industry about the performance of low-earth orbit #satellites versus terrestrial technologies. Each time I assured folks that speed and capacity concerns should not stop Americans from getting an Internet connection, especially because we aren't talking about the satellites of today, we are talking about the satellites of four years from now (the end of the BEAD deployment timeline.) And now? We have #gigabit speeds from LEO satellites before "a single shovel in the ground" for any BEAD project. Its exciting because we are that much closer to getting every person in the United States a high-speed Internet connection, utilizing the entire range of #broadband technologies available.

Big week for Kuiper! Greater than 1 Gbps speeds from the first Kuiper satellites on station at 630km. That speed test used a Kuiper enterprise grade terminal: Amazon has invented some mind-blowing customer terminals.  As Rajeev Badyal notes, we believe this test showed the first commercial phased array antenna to deliver 1+ Gbps from LEO. And…Kuiper signed JetBlue. Big week indeed.
