The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association named Rodeo Austin as the “Mega Rodeo of the Year” for 2024. Rodeo Austin is thrilled to showcase WPRA contestants in Barrel Racing and Breakaway Roping as part of the nightly ProRodeo performances held in March each year. Along with its commitment to advancing the sport of ProRodeo, Rodeo Austin has continued to work with the WPRA to ensure these female athletes have a great opportunity to compete in Austin, Texas. We are proud to support the oldest women’s sports organization in the country. The Mega Rodeo of the Year Award was a new category in 2024 and includes Rodeos that provide $25,000 or more in purse money per event, and Rodeo Austin is humbled to be the inaugural recipient of this award.
