Big step for open agentic AI. OpenAI is co-founding the Agentic AI Foundation under The Linux Foundation, alongside Anthropic and Block, and donating AGENTS.md to this new umbrella. AGENTS.md started as a practical way to share instructions with coding agents like Codex, and it’s been amazing to see the community adopt it so quickly. Excited to see it live beyond OpenAI. To mark the move to the AAIF, we put together a simple logo. ✨
A significant step toward open, interoperable agentic systems. Establishing the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation signals a shift from isolated models to auditable, standards-driven ecosystems. The real progress now will come from structuring agents with clear governance, accountability and sustainable architecture.
Which impact matters most - broader adoption across competing platforms, or the community governance enabling faster evolution of agent instruction standards?
Exciting to see agentic standards moving into an open foundation. Shared patterns like AGENTS.md will go a long way toward making multi-model workflows more reliable and interoperable.
I always ask codex to write me an agents.md file
A big move 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Romain Huet
