What Are Harmonics, What Causes Them, and Their Effects Harmonics are unwanted frequency components that are integer multiples of the main power frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz) i.e., 150 Hz (3rd harmonic), 250 Hz (5th), etc. What causes harmonics? They are produced by non-linear loads i.e. devices that distort current draw from the grid. Common sources include: Switching power supplies (e.g., computer chargers), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), LED or fluorescent lighting, Inverters, rectifiers, arc furnaces, UPS systems, etc. What are their effects on the grid? Overheating: transformers, motors, and cables run hotter and less efficient. Equipment malfunctions: sensitive electronics may misoperate. I've got pie in the sky idea. Solar + storage in sprayable paint form. We can print chips with features as small at 2-4 nm. That's super tiny. Lets print quadrillions of microsized chips that have a bifacial solar panel, power optimizer, charge controller, auto reverse polarity function, communication, battery management system, and silicon-carbon battery all integrated onto one chip, a system-on-chip (SOC). These microsized chips are self aligning meaning when they land on the surface being sprayed, the polar nature of each microsized chip orients to face neighboring chips in the correct orientation due to the positively charged end of each chip aligning with the negatively charged end of each chip. The chemicals in the paint suspension combined with sunlight results in a photocatalysis reaction that chemically solders the chips together forming electrical connections. The paint suspension additionally serves as protection to protect the microsized chips from environmental damage. At the end of each area being painted a header is installed that forms a connection with the wet paint.This header aggregates and combines the energy from each microsized string of solar panels to be sent to an inverter to convert the energy into 120/240v AC. Each header posses thousands of positively and negatively charged pads for the self aligning chips to connect to, each header also has a communication chip to communicate with each of the all-in-one microsized solar+storage SOC. You can spray this solar + storage paint onto any building material currently paintable.
