BREAKING: GoCardless is about to be acquired by Mollie! There have been rumours for months that this may happen however Bloomberg is now reporting that it could be announced this week. The UK fintech was last valued at $2.1bn and achieved profitability for the first time earlier this year (on an EBITDA basis). Mollie was last valued at $6.5bn and has over 200k customers across Europe. Gocardless was founded in 2011 by Hiroki Takeuchi, Matt Robinson and Tom Blomfield, and has since become one of the UK's leading fintechs. In its latest financial reports it recorded £133m of revenue. It's a solid company so hopefully the price will result in a great result for the founders, investors and employees!
