✨ I’m thrilled to share that I successfully defended my PhD viva yesterday! ✨ After an incredible journey filled with research, challenges, long nights, experiments and breakthroughs, I have officially completed my Doctor of Philosophy at the University of York. My thesis, “Artificial Intelligence Backed Automation for Detecting Cracks in Solar Cells,” represents years of dedication to advancing the reliability and performance of solar PV technology through AI-driven inspection. This milestone means a lot to me, both personally and professionally and I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for the support I’ve had along the way. Alhamdulillah for this achievement.I’m excited to carry this expertise forward into the renewable energy sector. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to my supervisors to Dr. Xing ZHAO for his exceptional guidance and continuous support throughout the latter part of my PhD, and to Dr. Mahmoud Dhimish, for his invaluable mentorship and foundational supervision during the early stages of my research. Their combined expertise and encouragement truly shaped the success of this work. Onwards to the next chapter.
