"Respectful communication is really valued by parents of medically complex kids. Invite me into the dialogue and ask my opinion, or at the very least, respect my concerns. In our world, we have been forced to become experts in the field we did not choose.... I can see how a resident neurosurgeon wants to feel some respect for their years of grueling work to get where they are. But so do I." - Parent of a medically complex child Stories have power. "Shared Struggles: Stories from Parents and Pediatricians Caring for Children with Serious Illnesses" shows how telling & hearing stories from both sides—parents and pediatricians—around serious childhood illness can change how we think, listen, and act. At Shifting Frames Consulting, we believe experiential learning—and bias interruption—is one of the ways to shift how clinicians connect with patients and families. This book is a reminder of why that work matters. #PatientExperience #ClinicianWellbeing #BiasInterruption

We're thrilled to announce significant enhancements to our patient intake process at Blackbird Health, designed to provide faster and more efficient access to vital mental health support for young patients. Recognizing that timely intervention is crucial, we've implemented a streamlined 2-step intake and launched the new Blackbird Patient Portal, powered by Athena Healthcare. These changes mean families can now more easily: - Provide essential details quickly - Complete virtual new patient evaluations - Self-schedule appointments - Communicate seamlessly with their Care Team - Manage billing and records Additionally, we've made it simpler for pediatricians to refer patients directly through our HIPAA-compliant online form. Our commitment is to reduce the national average of 11 years from initial concern to treatment. We're proud to be an extension of your care team, empowering young people to thrive. Families managing pediatric type 1 diabetes face not only medical challenges but also emotional, social, and financial ones. These realities are shaping how we design the Adhera Caring Digital Program (ACDP). Through our T1D beta program, we’ve heard directly from parents about the value of emotional support, clear education, and community connection. One parent shared, “I felt love from people I didn’t even know.” These insights remind us why we’re committed to building AI-native solutions that combine intelligent digital agents with human coaching and community support. In our latest blog, Shannon McGinley shares key learnings from families, how they align with our peer-reviewed evidence, and what’s next - including the launch of our pediatric obesity beta and our upcoming conversations with payors at the CA Association of Health Plans Annual Conference. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gKTM_MTd #AIinHealthcare #DigitalHealth #FamilyCenteredCare #Type1Diabetes #PediatricCare #HealthEquity #CaliforniaHealth #Caregivers #ChronicCare #HealthInnovation

When an older adult keeps losing weight despite more calories, it’s often seen as “just part of aging.” But in many cases, the cause is preventable — and treatable. As a speech therapist working with older adults, I see this missed every day: ⚠️ The calories go in… but they don’t stick. If meals are becoming exhausting, stressful, or ineffective, there’s a deeper issue at play. 🎥 In this short video, I share the silent reason this happens — and one thing you can do to help immediately. #GeriatricCare #CaregiverSupport #SpeechTherapy #DysphagiaAwareness #ElderCareSolutions #PatientAdvocacy

🌟 Big News from the Adult and Pediatric Institute! 🌟 We are thrilled to officially announce the expansion of our services to include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Beginning October 2025, we will start accepting ABA clients for both in-home and in-school care. Even more exciting—our brand-new St. Lucie West clinic will be opening in early 2026, designed to provide an advanced, supportive space for families. To ensure care is accessible, we will be accepting several major insurance providers. At the Adult and Pediatric Institute, our mission has always been to merge mental and behavioral health under one roof—providing comprehensive, high-quality care for individuals across the lifespan. Adding ABA therapy is a major milestone in delivering on that promise. 💡 Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to opening our doors for this next chapter in care! #ABATherapy #MentalHealthCare #BehavioralHealth #StLucieWest #InHomeTherapy #ChildDevelopment #AdultAndPediatricInstitute #FullyIntegratedCare #ASDMom

Autism & Healthcare (From the Inside) As an autistic nurse, I see both sides of the exam table. 👩⚕️ Patients on the spectrum often face sensory overload, communication barriers, and anxiety in medical settings. ✨ Small changes — clear instructions, quiet spaces, and patience — make a huge difference. 💡 Neurodiversity in healthcare isn’t just about patients — it’s about providers too. Representation matters. Together, we can build care that’s truly inclusive. #AutismAcceptance #HealthcareEquity #Neurodiversity

Between now and the HLTH USA stage, here are 3 commitments I want leaders to make if we’re serious about women’s mental health. 1. Make mental health part of standard care, not just a referral. Universal screening and warm handoffs across OB/GYN, primary care, and pediatrics, with protected time and reimbursement attached. 2. Share the load at work. Predictable scheduling, real PTO, and no-penalty mental health days. Stop rewarding “always on.” Track workload equity by gender and race, then fix the gaps. Let me repeat that part... then fix the gaps. 3. Build care by and for the people most impacted. Fund culturally responsive models (like what we’re building at Kyndred). Listen to teens, mothers, and caregivers; let them co-design the solutions. If you lead a team or a budget, which one can you commit to working to implement? If you’re a clinician who’s been carrying too much, you don’t have to do it alone, Togather is a home for collective care and collective action. What would you add to this list? I’m listening, and I’ll take it with me to HLTH. #CollectiveCare #CollectiveAction #HealthJustice #WithKyndred #WomensHealth #Burnout #HealthcareOnLinkedIn
