OpenAI and Oracle Ink Historic $300 Billion Cloud Computing Deal: Amid yesterday's news of Oracle's soaring stock, which propelled founder Larry Ellison to the top of the world's richest list, the Wall Street Journal reported that the cloud giant and OpenAI have struck one of the largest cloud contracts ever signed. Under the deal, OpenAI will purchase $300 billion worth of compute power from Oracle over roughly five years, with purchases beginning in 2027. "This move away from Microsoft was timed with OpenAI's involvement with the Stargate Project, in which OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle have committed to invest $500 billion into domestic data center projects over the next four years," notes TechCrunch. OpenAI also recently signed a cloud deal with Google. "The deal ... underscores the fact that the two are willing to overlook heavy competition between them to meet the massive computing demands," wrote analyst in Reuter's report. OpenAI just signed a $300 billion cloud deal with Oracle over 5 years. That's $60 billion per year. For context, Oracle's entire 2024 revenue was $53 billion. Here's what nobody's talking about: → Microsoft just got dumped as OpenAI's exclusive cloud partner → Oracle needs to build entire data centers from scratch for this → This deal is bigger than most countries' defense budgets Real talk: I've watched companies promise massive infrastructure builds before. Oracle's current cloud capacity couldn't handle 10% of this workload today. The kicker? No official confirmation yet. Just "people familiar with the matter." Either this reshapes the entire cloud industry or it's the most expensive vapor announcement in tech history. What's your take - game changer or overhyped deal that falls apart in year two? 👇 #OpenAI #Oracle #CloudComputing #Microsoft #TechDeals

Oracle's stock surged after news broke of a potential $300 billion cloud computing contract with OpenAI, set to commence in 2027 and spanning five years. This deal, one of the largest ever, aligns with Oracle's recent announcement of multiple multi-billion-dollar contracts. OpenAI began using Oracle’s services in 2024, aiming to reduce dependence on Microsoft Azure, and officially ended its exclusive Microsoft relationship in January. The timing coincides with the $500 billion Stargate Project, a collaboration with SoftBank and Oracle for domestic data center construction. OpenAI's multi-cloud strategy, including a deal with Google, highlights its priority on computing power over traditional partnerships. This trend signifies the AI industry's growing demand for computing resources. Oracle's contract with OpenAI positions it as a key player in the cloud market, though official confirmation is still pending. Get Outlook for iOS

☁️🤝 OpenAI and Oracle reportedly sign one of the largest cloud deals in history According to WSJ, OpenAI has inked a landmark agreement with Oracle, committing to purchase $300B worth of compute power over five years starting in 2027. Why it matters: 💡 This could be one of the largest cloud contracts ever signed, reshaping the competitive landscape of hyperscale compute. 🖥️ OpenAI is expanding beyond Microsoft Azure, now tapping Oracle (and recently Google) to fuel its insatiable demand for AI infrastructure. 🚀 The deal aligns with the Stargate Project, where OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank pledged $500B for U.S. data centers. 🔋 For Oracle, this is a validation of its cloud ambitions, signaling it can play at the same scale as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. 👉 As AI models scale, compute has become the new currency of innovation — and multi-cloud strategies are turning into survival strategies. #OpenAI #Oracle #CloudComputing #AI #DataCenters #Microsoft #Google #Infrastructure #TechStrategy #StargateProject

OpenAI is buying about $300 billion of cloud services from Oracle starting in 2027. That's... a lot of money. Especially for OpenAI, which still hasn't turned a profit. Here's the thing: Cloud computing is becoming the infrastructure of digital business and personal life. Cloud computing is what gets your Netflix to your TV screen and TikTok to your phone. Google Docs, Salesforce, ChatGPT at work... you name it. Expect many, many more massive deals like this. https://lnkd.in/eVMSRmw6
